St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church is dedicated to equipping and mobilizing leaders for the New Evangelization. One way we hope to accomplish this goal is through a comprehensive parish internship program aimed at preparing four highly motivated, degree-bound young adults for direct parish ministry experience. NET ONE FIFTY-THREE hopes not only to impart practical skills and experience, but also to provide ample opportunity for interns to discern God’s will to ministry from within a holistic vision of parish life.  Internships are 40-weeks long, averaging 15-20 hours per week, for which all interns will be compensated based on the current minimum wage rate.

Those selected will participate in a cycle of four distinct areas of specialization: Elementary Faith Formation, Youth Ministry, Marriage and Family Ministry, and Sacred Liturgy, each cycle lasting three months.

Finally, since the “success” of our ministerial work, thankfully, depends more on Him than on our own meager efforts, NET ONE FIFTY-THREE is committed to accompanying each intern as they grow in intimacy with Jesus Christ through regular participation in the sacraments, daily prayer, and one-on-one discipleship opportunities.

We seek interns who are fully initiated practicing Catholics endowed with a spirit of prayer and a genuine love of Christ and  His Church. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational and leadership skills, a genuine hunger for souls, an ability to collaborate humbly within a team setting, and a degree of social intelligence that will allow fruitful interactions with others. Secondarily, we are seeking proactive individuals with strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, as well as a commitment and ability to produce high-quality, timely and accurate work.  Proficiency in Spanish, as well as, MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is highly desirable.
